Privacy Policy

Poli ("we", "our", "the application") is a macOS application for grammar correction and translation. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are.

We collect the following data:

• Account data: email address and password (hashed) when you create your account.
• Submitted texts: texts you send for correction or translation. These are transmitted to our server, processed by Anthropic's Claude AI, then immediately deleted from our servers.
• History: if you enable history, the results of your corrections and translations are stored in encrypted form on our servers.
• Subscription data: your subscription status, managed by Apple via in-app purchases. We do not collect any banking information.
• Technical data: app version, macOS version, anonymous device identifier for technical support.

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide the correction and translation service.
• Manage your account and subscription.
• Improve service quality (aggregated and anonymized data only).
• Contact you in case of technical issues or important updates.

We use the following third-party processors:

• Anthropic (United States): text processing via Claude AI. Texts are processed in accordance with Anthropic's privacy policy and are not used to train their models.
• Apple: payment and subscription management via the Mac App Store.
• Hosting: our servers are hosted in Europe (European Union).

Texts submitted for correction or translation are deleted immediately after processing. History (if enabled) is retained for the duration of your subscription (7 days for the free plan, unlimited for paid plans). Account data is retained until you delete your account.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
• Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion: request deletion of your account and data.
• Portability: receive your data in a structured format.
• Objection: object to the processing of your data.

The Poli macOS app does not use cookies. The poli.app website uses only technical cookies necessary for the site to function (no tracking or advertising cookies).

We implement appropriate security measures: encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.3), password hashing (bcrypt), encryption of history at rest, and restricted access to personal data.

We may update this privacy policy. In case of substantial changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification or email.
